International Activities

Since the beginning of the aggression against Ukraine, DIZ-EKO has been in continuous discussions with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Croatia and with representatives of the Ukrainian government, participating in conferences for humanitarian demining in Ukraine, and engaging in talks with business entities in Ukraine involved in the demining process, aiming for active participation of DIZ-EKO in demining operations in Ukraine.

DIZ-EKO, together with its partners, is ready to participate in:

  • Organizing international licensed trainers in accordance with IMAS regulations for training and supervising personnel;
  • Technical survey using the latest technology, such as semi-autonomous mobile robots for detecting Explosive Remnants of War (ERW), drones for recording and analyzing data with active and passive data collection systems;
  • Provide free Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) activities for the local population to reduce the risk of injury from Explosive Ordnance (EO) by raising their awareness ;
  • Transitioning from the education phase to organizing systematic demining, ERW clearance, stockpile destruction, building clearing, and IED activities;
  • Employing war veterans and providing them with education and integration into the demining system;
  • Increasing the capacity of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) equipment (demining machines, detectors, etc.);
  • Doing assurance and quality control activities.

In addition to demining-related services, DIZ-EKO, together with partners, can organize various types of metal detectors for demining, ERW, IED, and semi-autonomous BAC robots for mine detection, PPE, training kits for D-mines for EOD training, and provide consultancy on selecting the best equipment according to needs and in accordance with IMAS.

With the aim of the above activities, DIZ-EKO continuously works on establishing a central HUB for Croatia and the region to transfer experience, equipment, and personnel for humanitarian demining operations in Ukraine.
